EASY LISTENER (FM) sound field system
HSOUNDFM
FM sound field system
The EASY LISTENER sound field system uses small speakers placed around a room to improve acoustics. The presenter talks into a small microphone connected to a transmitter worn on the body. From there, an FM radio signal is transmitted to a base station receiver which in turn is connected to speakers - either 4 separate speakers placed around the room or 1 centrally-located ceiling speaker.
The system consists of a microphone, transmitter, receiver, and speakers. The presenter has her choice of a behind-the-neck mic, lapel mic, or a hand-held directional microphone.
This FM-based sound field system is best used in oddly-shaped rooms or in schools that wish to use a limited number of systems (the number of classromms an FM system can be installed in is limited by the number of available FM frequencies; at most 40). For larger schools, we recommend the VOCALIGHT infrared sound field system.
The EASY LISTENER sound field system works well for people of all ages, although it is most commonly used in general education classrooms. Multiple studies done over the past two decades have proven that having a sound field system in general education classrooms improves student test scores and comprehension while it decreases learning disability (LD) referrals and teacher vocal fatigue. EASY LISTENER sound field ensures that the teacher can be consistently heard by everyone regardless of where they are seated or what the basic classroom acoustics are like.
