Guarantees                                               

  • Most products sold by the company have a one-year guarantee, from the date of purchase, covering defective materials and workmanship. This guarantee does not cover defects due to ‘fair wear and tear’ or damage caused by the user such as dropping the product or incorrect usage. Tampering with the product by the owner or third parties will terminate the guarantee. When an item is repaired under the one-year guarantee, the unused period of the guarantee will remain in force when the equipment is returned to the owner.
    When an item is repaired, after the guarantee has expired, the equipment will be covered by our 90-day warranty covering defective materials and workmanship. This warranty does not cover defects due to ‘fair wear and tear’ or damage caused by the user such as dropping the product or incorrect usage. Tampering with the product by the owner or third parties will terminate the warranty
    .

Repairs

  • When an item is sent for repair please include a note (or tape) stating the reason for the return. Remember to give your name and address and telephone number. Do not rely on the fact that you have made a phone call giving these details already, we are not perfect and the information you have given does not always meet up with your equipment in the workshop as it should do.
    In the case of cassette recorders with mains adaptors and rechargeable batteries, please forward the adaptor with the machine and it’s batteries
    .

 

  • When an estimate is requested, the actual fault or faults have to be diagnosed and remedial action determined. This work is the major part of any repair and often takes well over an hour to carry out. Because of this a charge of £20 will be levied for each estimate. If an estimate is accepted the £20 will form part of the repair cost.

Servicing

  • When a service is requested for a tape recorder, a charge of £39.00 will be made. The cost of any damaged components will be added to this charge. Drive and take-up belts will be included in the £39.00.

Packaging

  • When items are returned for repair or replacement, under the guarantee, it is the owner’s responsibility to ensure that the items are properly protected and packed. We advise that the original boxes be kept in a safe place and used for any returns. Items which arrive damaged due to inappropriate packaging will not be covered by the guarantee.

Returns

  • When goods sent on approval are returned, they must be complete, as received, and in their original packaging. Missing or damaged items will be charged for. Please bear in mind that we can only operate our ‘on approval’ service if these simple requests are met.

NB. Although correct on the date of publishing, the Company reserves the right to vary charges in the future.
